Welcome
To
Boston Bar
North from Yale is Hell’s Gate, the deepest
and narrowest point on the Fraser River, described by Simon Fraser
as a place no human being should venture. Venturing past Hell’s
Gate, you’ll find Boston Bar, the town named after a group
of American miners who got lucky in 1858. Boston Bar grew as a bustling
roadhouse stop, where, the story goes, Boston Bar Alex ran one of
the best shops along the way. Today, it is still a favorite resting
point for travelers following the Gold Rush Trail or for outdoor
enthusiasts, particularly those venturing into the Nahatlatch Valley.
