You’ve now joined the ranks of thousands of miners and adventurers
of all kinds who have successfully completed the Gold Rush Trail.
But unlike the miners, whose work would just be beginning, you can
relax and enjoy this fully restored historic town.
In its heyday, Barkerville was the largest city west of Chicago
and north of San Francisco. Today Barkerville is an authentically
restored town with a unique streetscape that takes you back in time
to the height of the gold rush. It offers 125 heritage buildings
and a plethora of "living history" programs including
the raucous live shows at Theatre Royal and the entertainers who
fill the streets with the antics of 19th century miners and maidens.
